PEER LEADERS - "If you don't tell them... who will?"
As one who is a bit farther along on their journey through high school, YOU are in the perfect spot to be an insightful voice in the lives of middle schoolers.
Having been around for a while, you "know the ropes" of high school and can come alongside new students to help them get connected on a better path.
What do Peer Leaders do?
- Lead middle school health class discussions about a variety of topics pertaining to life in high school.
- Give personal reasons why they choose to avoid risky behaviors.
- Teach middle school students how to avoid and refuse pressures.
- Facilitate skits and group interaction.
- Give insights as to where and how to be involved in positive activities in high school.
What does it take to be involved?
- An upbeat, genuine and teachable attitude.
- A personal committment to avoiding risky behaviors such as drugs, gangs, alcohol and sexual relationships.
- The willingness to speak to middle school students in a classroom setting.
- One, 2.5 hour FREE training.
- Availability monthly or bi-monthly for classroom presentations (45 min. to 1 hour in length).
- Parental permission (if under 18).
Why be a part of our team?
- You can be an encouragement to other teens. To make a committment to abstinence.

- Often includes FREE FOOD!
- It may qualify for community service.
